Rick Baker
Assistant Principal of Center Elementary

What an honor to have been chosen to help
lead the New Center Elementary School!  I am
blessed to have the opportunity to work every day with
a highly dedicated professional staff that puts
kids first at all cost.  I have spent my life trying
to help students learn how to make good choices
and the importance of getting
an education.  I have even spent my life
modeling those behaviors.

I began my life’s work as an educator in 1991.
After 4 years in the United State Air Force and a
Bachelors of Arts in Teaching Degree, I began
educating students in  Earth Science and
coaching in  the Houston area.  I completed my Masters
in Administration Degree from Texas A&M at Prairie View
and immediately became a school administrator in 1994.
I spent the next 14 years leading  High Schools
at the 2A, 3A and 4A Levels.  In 2008 I became an
administrator at F.L. Moffett Primary School
and have loved every minute I have been
able to spend with the children of Center ISD.
I can’t even imagine ever going another day without
700 hugs before 8am!!!!
In my spare time I am a member of the United States
Air Force Reserve as the Training Superintendent of the 917th
Medical Squadron at Barksdale AFB.  Additionally, I am bringing
a whole new fitness experience to Center, TX through the
Anytime Fitness club
I am opening in September, 2009.

I want to thank the good people of Center, Texas
for giving me the opportunity to hopefully have a positive
impact on the lives of your children.
